1200 Beetle Deluxe

Info

Barn-find. That term means nothing to non car people but to the likes of us they are two of the best words we can hear when hunting for old VWs. For most of us it doesn’t mean we’ll find a zero mile, all original VW that’s been kept in a dry warm barn but we all live in hope that we’ll find that long lost treasure that’s just waiting for its day in the sunshine once more.

MIO 721 is a 1200 Deluxe Beetle that was first registered in the county of Kildare back in 1970. Little is known of its past but our good friend Herbie Graham has unearthed it and is offering it for sale. It’s a typical barn-find, well for Ireland anyway, in that it has some rust. Sadly we are not blessed with a dry climate so rust and dampness will get into any old car no matter how well you try to stop it. What this Beetle lacks in condition it makes up for in oodles of potential and charm. This 1970 Beetle can be transformed into whatever you want it to be so if Rat Look Beetle, fully restored show winner or just an honest restoration project then this could be the one for you.

If you fancy owning this barn-find Beetle then we’ll happily put you in touch with Herbie but be fast because there is a lot of interest in it, and we can see why.

UPDATE 11/03/20: We’re delighted to report that this Beetle is on its way to its new home in Kerry.
