Info

I would like to thank Sean Doran for submitting this photo, taken by Joe Doran. The photo was taken by Joe at 8am on Schoolhouse Road in New Ross back on June 12th 1974. Standing on the left is Seanie Byrne and on the right is Jerry Corcoran.

Sadly very little is known about the Beetle apart from it being around 6 years old when the photo was taken. It was one of the first 12 volt Beetles built after the factory changeover from 6 volt to 12 volt in August 1967. This Beetle we believe would have been one of the first registered in Waterford in January 1968. It was built in Dublin and was finished in what looks like Gentian blue (L51B) but it is quite difficult to make it out in the photo.

Thanks again Sean for submitting this photo.
