“DZJ 487 is an August of 1966 beetle 1300 finished in white, possibly with a red interior and fitted with over riders. Like BZU 958, DZJ 487 would have started life in the Rathgar/Milltown area of Dublin and would have done so till 1969. It would have been bought new by are grandparents at the time.
This is the pre 67 model which would have had the fuel filler in the front boot, along with the sloped front lights and smaller rear lights compared to the next generation beetle.
From the pictures I have they seem to be taken on trips down to Cahersiveen during the summer and around Christmas.”
