This 1978 Bay Window Single Cab Pickup was spotted in Fenton’s scrap yard in Limerick in 2006. It appeared to be in the section that sold cars complete, not for breaking so hopefully it was saved by someone!! Never saw it again.
UPDATE 06-05-2022: This Bay Window Single Cab is currently awaiting restoration in County Kerry. It was originally owned by the ESB in Ardnacrusha, County Clare. After five years of service the 1978 Pickup was sold to the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board who used it in the Munster area, primarily in the Kerry region we believe. The engine was changed at some point for a replacement 1600cc motor. The Type 2 spent some time in Cork but has not been on the road for many years. The close-up photos show the Bay as it is currently.
