Model information

1962 RHD Karmann Ghia

Info

This 1962 Karmann Ghia was an original right hand drive car for the UK market. It made its way to Ireland in 1977 hence the FZA plate. It suffered badly from rust, like most Ghias that were on the receiving end of Irish weather conditions. It had been patched up over the years to keep it alive. Fibreglass featured heavily as well as plastic pudding bowls being used as replacement light bowls (well at least they were not going to rust). The right hand drive dash board and other rhd related items now live on in another car. I believe the chassis and remains of the shell still exist and live in Kilkenny.
