Info

At first you could be mistaken for thinking this is just another Californian Bus with sun damage and in some ways it actually is but look closer and you’ll see that there was more heat damage caused to this Bus than just the hot Californian sun.

This Bus was caught up in the 2018 camp fire that destroyed nearby Paradise in California. We’re not sure how close the fire came to this Bus but the heat was so extreme that it melted the radio in the dashboard, cracked the windscreen and burnt the paint on the front panel. This was so much more than simple sun damage.

The original paint colours were, and still are, Chianti Red (L31H) under Pastel White (L90D). The Bus is almost all original and wears its original coat of paint. Having made it out of Paradise in one piece and having original paint, this is a ‘survivor’ Bus in so many ways. It is now in Ireland and is parked in an Eircooled Car Club member’s garage. We wish him all the best with this very cool VW!
