Type 2 Bay Window Single Cab

Acorn Tours have submitted two Bay Window Single Cabs to the Beetle.ie Census, this being the second one. The first being HIX 260, a November 1977 Longford registered Bay Window.
This Single Cab is identical in almost every way as it is the last off the line Type 2 Bay Window that’s finished in Reef Blue (L57H) and is still in use. This Mayo registered Type 2 differs from HIX 260 in that it was not registered until a few months later in April 1978.
Acorn Tours snapped this Bay at a show in Mayo in July 2022 and it looked impressive in its original condition but no doubt, like HIX 260, it could easily be put back into service as a commercial Volkswagen once more.
