Info

Another beautiful Karmann Ghia Convertible for the Beetle.ie Census.

70 MO 504 was photographed at two events, with the first being the Kilcommon Festival in Tipperary, while the second photo was taken in Tramore, County Waterford at a Southern Volks Folks Owners Club event.

The only noticeable difference is the wheels. At Kilcommon this Karmann Ghia had a set of Lemmerz GT rims while in Tramore it had a set of Marathon rims with the very rare centre caps. Both rims looked great on the car but then again, anything looks great against the timeless elegant design of the Karmann Ghia.

The colour looked to be Adriatic Blue (L50E) which was available to order on Karmann Ghias from August 1970 through to August 1972. This US spec model had not been in Ireland too many years when these photos were taken and it looked very well cared for but like many cars from those 1990s shows, it seems to have vanished.

UPDATE 22-07-2020: Thanks to Emilio, of Emilio’s Beetles for this update: “This Karmann Ghia has been residing in County Meath for over ten years. At one stage is was belong to the late Tom Lally and was passed on to the present owner.”
