This Beetle was produced in late 1973 for the ’74 market. It was registered in Limerick County on January 16th 1974.
This photograph was taken near the Parkway Shopping Centre in Limerick in November 1989 and still wore some of its original raised plastic digit number plate and what had fallen off was written in black marker. Like so many Beetles of the time, it was used as a daily driver and had been in and out of a local garage for repairs to keep it on the road. I believe it is being restored currently so hopefully we’ll see it back on the road again soon, except this time for a more relaxed pace of life!
