57C26 was a US delivered Oval that made its way from the US of A to the UK where it enjoyed a life on the drag strip at the weekends. The 1835cc twin carb engine was full of torque and when the tyres were warmed up with the aid of the lineloc you were guaranteed some fun. After leaving the UK it was registered to its new owner in Cork before going to Tipperary and finally back to Cork. The 1835cc motor is in a GT Beetle now and has been replaced with a 1200cc unit.
