It’s not often you see an ex-magazine cover car in Ireland but this Oval was bought by VW enthusiasts Brian Maher and Liam Dwyer a number of years ago and brought back to their native Tipperary.
The ex Ultra VW cover car belonged to one of the team in the magazine so you can be sure this Oval had the best of everything from suppliers to the industry. It was lowered, had a sweet set of BRM rims, one piece windows and a custom interior but all the time it retained the charm of an Oval Window Beetle. The Cal Look stance and the dechroming worked so well against the modern metallic finish. This was one eye catching Oval back in 2005 when the magazine hit the shelves and it’s still jaw dropping all these years later.
