Model information

Bay window, Panel Van, and Type 2 Bay Window

Info

We bought the three Bays from a lad in West Cork on the basis that we could transport them out. Basically, it was two absolutely rotten hightop campers (which included the one you see here) and one white Panel Van that him and his brother were going to do up out of the other two buses and use as a camper. I thought they were mad personally. Leave the panel van alone! But sure of course, they already had attacked the van and cut out the windows.

Additional info from Beetle.ie: Built in the Naas Road factory in July 1975, this Type 2 Panel Van was then sent to VW Motors in Dublin where it was sold from. It was registered in Dublin on August 14th 1975 with its HIK registration. HIK was issued for July and August 1975 in Dublin.

Originally finished in Savannah Beige, at some point in its life this Panel Van had windows fitted, a colour change and of course the fibreglass hightop was also fitted.

Sadly all were scrapped in or around 2002 as they were so rusty, an economical restoration on any of the Bays was not possible.
